Waiting for Typhoon Wipha

Stefano Bosello articoli Cina - Aspettando il tifone Wipha in metropolitana

So, let's be clear right away that I want to play down a little 'things and right now they are sorry for any victim of this typhoon (I hope not) results. That said, let's talk.

Yesterday afternoon I was with my boss in a school, talking about an event for 800 people in July when it enters my site manager and tells us that tomorrow no school on the orders of authority for education in Shanghai. Cause? Typhoon (Taifun is said in Chinese, for those who just thought that he learned the weather). Quick contact with all the schools are all closed.

Last night it was raining but not impossible to levels I and three brave (but of what?) We left a private apartment in Pudong (the other side of town) where an Indian has put on a "" "restaurant" " "unfairness in the narrow apartment where he lives. It 's cool because you eat on the floor and your hands (they give you the spoon but damn, the fun of "Animal in AIESEC" combined with the healthy act as local hosts where we put it?). The Indian cuisine is homemade. Very good. Getting back on the subway, laughing like crazy and sarcastic jokes (a sense of humor and Asia do not understand much) of hypothetical disasters caused by typhoon, we realize that:

1) The Chinese around us were all serious
2) We laughed so much, you seem drunk (no, not a drop of beer)
3) The underground so empty we had not ever seen

Oh well, I returned home triumphantly announce to my roommate that while tomorrow she'll go to work.

Today, I wake up like a king at about 9 am, coffee, biscuits, total relaxation. Outside there is only a sprinkling of rain, I'm done writing here at the gym. The phone I kept burning in the morning when I call the office, but I would say that the danger is past, it's official holiday.

Inanto, sifting through the latest simulations on the typhoon , I have definitively confirmed that contrary to what predicted two days ago will not west of Shanghai city. (And I think will do more damage here in Nanjing). Sure, some roof blown off weak and falling trees, but at least here in town (not "Shanghai" as a special territory) I do not think will happen much, because even hitting the mainland has weakened a bit '. At two o'clock (two hours and something) will be the closest point in Shanghai.

In conclusion then, from a strictly selfish point of view at the time of writing, this typhoon I like him.

  1. Thanks for the news. When we felt the phone was actually a bit 'worried, given the news on the internet yesterday (you know, maybe a million people evacuated for China is "simple." It' s one thing here, if you must evacuate 10 families flooding to move in 50 civil defense ... the parameters are a little 'different)

  2. Updated post-typhoon: passed to the west, Shanghai city has not done any damage. The news report of damage in the countryside (and no fresh news from nanjing fresh). However, the typhoon has effectively lost a lot of hitting the mainland.

  4. In practice, each (a table) and a chef's school has a site manager. While the chef is the chef's busy being the site manager (in principle) coordinates all the paperwork to receive such orders, personal check, cashier coordination, communication with the customer, transaction control, profit & loss later this month ...
