For too long I do not write on this blog. Various causes, for sure it starts in February with an equally belated travelogue . However, the time to tell the snow in Shanghai, I found a few hours after my departure from this city. But first things first.

It seems that dear winter this year has decided to make it big. As previously reported, China is divided between North and South more or less from the Yang-Tze River. Being a few miles south of Shanghai, a city south of the rigid local vision. The most noticeable impact in this regard, in addition to the economic side (south are rich), is the total lack of heating systems. It goes to electricity: air conditioners and lamps. Incidentally, the canteen where I work does a cold beak.

However, just behind the Chinese New Year, when practically half China returns home, the snow began to fall. A lot. If this turns into Shanghai scenic scenes as photos, are out of ice blocks, people without electricity (ie no heating), or people stuck in train stations (ie the place where millions of people are moving back home ). To give you some idea, half a million people were waiting for the train to Guangzhou (Canton), "only" one hundred thousand in Shanghai.

Just for context, let me add that many immigrants in the rich south to return home or leave town for good after a year of work in this period. It means that many have packed everything and shipped before taking the train. In other words, in addition to the station, no other place to go. Others have failed to find a ticket to go home (sales suspended on 30 to allow the outflow of people waiting) and the Government to expedite the repairs has shipped half a milionata PLA (People Liberation Army) in distressed regions.

Minor impacts: energy rationing in some places, tons of coal shipped emergency in some cities ( in Guangzhou 125000 ), blocked highways, frozen fields with obvious pressure on prices in coming months (occupational hazard).

At the time of writing, the situation (always been quiet here in Shanghai) is a significant improvement ( so they say ). I however, finished writing this article, I dashed home and make the backpack at midnight and a half (first of two) will bring me delicious low cost airline in the Philippines with 4 friends, arrival at the beach at noon, 30 degrees, white sand, beach bungalows and drinks with umbrella in hand. From there I will go then to Bangkok to reach another caravan, already starting in Shanghai. It will be my first winter vacation at 30 ° C, and frankly I can not wait. The damp chill of Shanghai you feel it.
