Traffic in China, traffic in Shanghai

Stefano Bosello articoli Cina - Shanghai Cina traffico

Every day I take the taxi to go to work. Yes I know it's crazy, but I can not convince myself to wake up 40 minutes before to save a buck. However, recently instead of waking up with a nice phone I opened my eyes thanks to a constant chorus of horns that sorpendentemente reflex for 18 planes came to my window. The image you see below it was the cause. Here, if you were in Sweden would be really hard to explain what the traffic, the real one, the Chinese one. We say that the Italians have points in common culturally. Imagine Naples (Iron t'arrabbià not, not my fault if you're the best!), We divide the average speed for two, we increase the traffic of four times. Season with red respected but never under certain circumstances; horn often pressed for at least one quarter of the way, even more rigid law of the bulk or, in scale, pedestrian - bike - scooter - car - great car - bus - Corrierone - trucks from China Construction - Police.
Because of the widespread inability to lead this people to novice (extreme? A to those of you who serve two parking spaces to accommodate your car to a place three times larger?), Here are traffic lights at every corner. The priorities are rarely sufficient reason to stop. If you add that in many steps and start with the yellow (yellow is also the first green, as in much of the world) and that the maximum of traffic-management are usually two to four-lane roads that intersect at a stoplight ... Well, you see that here we are at the urban jungle.
Are not you glad? I might add that the lights themselves are crazy: placed on the opposite side of the road, almost always give the green / red for all ... Imagine a secondary where the lights emerald: Who straight, right and left, pedestrians .. opposite directions, all at once.
But the insidious danger does not stop with China: I know that I will be racing for Italy attached to the horn, tempted by the zigzag lanes without a shred of arrows, looking for my parking while I refrain from the "clear my throat" of the window ... Oh well perhaps for the first hour or. Much more would be written, but I will stop here with two things: first, imagine a lightning without light, a vehicle that makes no noise. Imagine it is now dark in the streets. Look, what I want to tell you is that if you happened around here watch out for electric bicycles: lights off, 40 hour, only the weak friction of tires on asphalt to warn you that you are in danger.

Second? Yes, if you're interested in other goodies you can make a jump here.

Good ... Easter?!

Stefano Bosello Articoli Cina - La Pasqua in Cina

ACC is Easter today right? Yes, that's why the school was a day off (politically correct of course: it is called "Spring Break"). I spent a Friday bureaucracy, opening bank accounts, withdrawing my card with my salary, spending the same in a subscription to the gym. The same Friday, which now I realize is that where you do not eat meat and do not party, I was invited by a friend of a friend of a friend at a birthday party. A very "is-a-Shanghai-a-week-and-me-fun" I distributed business cards to tape, let's see if I can get someone. I'd like to go out again with the Spanish, they are nuts at least the ones I remember in the summers of Cagliari.
Returning to my Easter was a day of meditation: Japanese restaurant with sushi and wasabi ribbon holder aprinaso, 4 hours to walk around the Bund and around (every weekend is an area to see), bought the last pieces of the set gym (8 euro Diesel bag, the seller gave me compliments and told me that we have lost 5 kuai sell). He returned home a little 'tired (?!), I resisted the lure of fame and I'm headed for the gym, where we are off for a jog was 3 hours, however, interesting times ... including cooking in a sauna. Easygoing and I had dinner I headed home where I sno slumped on the bed.

The picture you see above is the only event that I saw yesterday Easter: egg giant Pizza Hut, with show rabbits and children to make climbing on the egg.

Hats

Stefano Bosello articoli Cina - Shanghai plastico

Ok, spill the beans. In these parts (China) all growing so fast that frankly when I moved here (Shanghai) thought that the development here was (a little ') slower, a giant on the road to maturity, so to speak.

Every Saturday ( "any" big word, is only the second) I choose a location in town and I follow him, strictly by foot, to explore places, store places, roads and districts connect mentally ... And of course, see Shanghai. In my pilgrimage this weekend I headed to People Square, where curiosity I entered the "Shanghai Urban Development Museum.

Here, we say that qundo I left I had another idea in mind. Sure, maybe in some areas of the city's property development does not run (thankfully) as in other parts, but it remains true that for the 'Expo 2010 to be held between the impossible are building futuristic warehouses, metro lines (two of these are longer than 100km) ... But that's another story, we remain at the museum: among the things that I've been impressed MEGAPLAST there is certainly the central area of the city, but speaking of facts and figures (English) are for example, the mega-projects of the airport and the port of depth that left me dumbfounded. The airport, built 30 kilometers from the city and linked by the magnetic train at 400 per hour we arrive in 8 minutes (future developments), was designed in modules and the whole plan and scheduled until 2015. The 80 million scheduled passengers are certainly figure among the top 10 hubs in the world, but the freight traffic that will make Shanghai the move "forced" to all of Asia. It is a bit 'as if they understood that the port was no longer sufficient in this age of speed, and we have supported this titan.
Second, much more to the Chinese, is the port of depth, built on islands at 85 km from Shanghai and connected by a bridge of 36 km without rail. They seem to have problems because it costs too much to send the goods, we shall see, not all can go smoothly no?
