90 - "A few" days without internet, email and MSN

Stefano Bosello - Articoli Cina Internet bloccata

Do not be angry with the Internet here yesterday at the university, very slow. So I was quite disappointed when I discovered that the internet was rather rapid in China, while foreign sites were only to be blocked. The stranger in my own mind has usually attempted censorship of mass of the track, imagining that the BBC had been blocked for your pages in Chinese. Today, after yet another attempt, I came to make me a "roujiemo" (a kind of minkebab Chinese). Behold, the China Daily enlightens me with a front-page headline: Earthquake in Taiwan, broken wire. I largely absent from Europe for the first time the connection goes around the Pacific, through the U.S.. So not only China but all over the south-east Asia is having some problems. The funny thing is that the dear old phones work perfectly. Another funny thing is that here in China is normal in the office (while we hide behind the thousand windows word) to use MSN (chat), so I immagnato these hordes of Chinese (and not just Chinese) upset by the lack of amusement at their first work and forced to find other ways to pass the time.

Beyond that, now and for at least three weeks do not worry if you join me will not be easy, it's all right here. (It seems that the band is much better output than input, so after waiting three minutes to view this page it took me just to post an article).

Merry Christmas!

Stefano Bosello articoli Cina - Sciare a Pechino

Because for once I want to be the right time with the Blog you do a Christmas card, which arrived here a few minutes. Yesterday (or today since it's midnight) I went skiing in Beijing! Crazy, skied to zero (or nearly zero) feet (?!). They take a decent hill and shoot at us tons of snow. Simple is not it? I went with That's Beijing , why not pay in the morning I gave ski lessons. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and beers at the bar, transportation, lift tickets: all-inclusive.

Today (Christmas 25) I go to lunch with AIESEC trainee (yes I know that are called interns right now but the word makes sense to pronounce it so that we gave up), I do not know what time I come back, but I hope to be able to respond and to wish to all. Since we are all of the 'West have decided that no, one could not be Christmas without any presents, so we set ourselves a spending limit (20RMB, 2 million) to make a gift to another. Sympathetic. I hope that we will not use the mulled wine Great Wall of China (which is still among the top Chinese wines), vapor memorable.

Still MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

Living in Beijing (Beijing), China

A breath of fresh air

This morning I got up, I started with zombies step into the bathroom where I first heard the music clear his throat (understatement) of the day. So, always in my coma I thought that if I do not pay more for a while. After spending the steps Martians April genuinely understand the origin and accept the Chinese habit.
But today I wanted to go deeper, because it is not just a matter of dust in April. I told many, Italy, that Beijing was the most polluted city in the world. The first would be Mexico City, a small town, but I explained that for certain parameters can be, but the level of particulate matter in Beijing is a world record. Do you want the data? According to the parameters of the European Union average of PM10 should be at most 40 mm/m3, with the mythical 36 days in a year where you can stay within the 50 mm/m3 (where everything and everyone close to the foot). Here, Beijing yesterday marked a pollution index of 256 that the hand chart corresponds to more than 350 mm/m3. Better not to tell the Olympic Committee!
